This is a photo of my family taken in June of this year by the incredible Rita Kravchuk. If there is one piece of advice I can give to new parents, its take lots and lots of pictures and videos of your children & family. Time passes in the blink of an eye and if you don’t capture the moments they are gone forever and you can’t go back in time.
I’ve been going through old photos lately and can’t believe how fast my youngest son Luke has grown. The photo of Luke below was when he was 3 months old. Look at how tiny he was compared to the photo above! I miss my little baby.
Below is a photo of the whole family from the same photo shoot last September. You can see how much I’ve changed as well since Luke was born just over a year ago. Look at how much hair I had (sniff). Between the hair that you lose after having a baby and the Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) my hair is so thin and frail now.
I also still find it hard to believe that I was 80 pounds heavier than I am now, granted about 20-25 pounds was baby weight, but still. To think I was carrying around all that extra weight (essentially fat) is frightening. Anyway, I digress.
I am so thankful for the advice given to my husband and I the day before my first child was born. A friend said take an obnoxious amount of photos and videos of your children because they grow up so fast. You will never regret taking too many, but you will regret not taking enough. Thanks D!
*If you are looking for a great family photographer, I highly recommend Rita Kravchuk! For anyone that knows my kids, capturing a decent photo is near impossible because they never sit still for longer than a second! No really!
