Smithy Fruit Smoothie

Happy New Year!  In the Smith household, the Smithy Fruit Smoothie is how we start off our day, every day!  This recipe has evolved over the years with the help of nutritionists and naturopaths. We wanted to ensure that everyone is getting the healthiest breakfast they can, especially my little guy Liam and here is the result.

Ingredients

Extra Healthy Additions to be added to individual glasses

Method

  1. In a high performance blender (I personally use the Vitamix 5200) add, in the order listed above, the first 9 ingredients
  2. Turn your blender on slowly, then to your highest setting and blend until smooth
  3. With the blender going, add in the Vibrant Health Field of Greens and mix until incorporated then turn off blender
  4. The next step is to prepare the individual smoothies
  5. For the kids add all 3 of the Extra Healthy Additions to each class
  6. For the adults add the fish oil and probiotic
  7. Add a small amount of shake to each glass and mix until the ingredients are incorporated
  8. Once the above step is complete, fill each glass to the top and enjoy!

*If you find the smoothie a little too “healthy” tasting, you can add a few pitted dates or stevia to sweeten it up.

**For those moms that are breastfeeding and finding their milk supply dwindling try adding 2 Tsp of Moringa Powder to your smoothie.  It doesn’t taste the best, but it works (or at least it did for me)!!

*** Silk True Almond Unsweetened Original Almond Milk is a great dairy free alternative.  Did you know that it has the same amount of calcium as cow’s milk?
