Thought I would share a few of my favourite Small Kitchen Appliances (SKA) that I can’t live without!
The 1st is my Vitamix!
Hands down, my favourite SKA is my Vitamix. I cannot tell you how much I love, love love it! I use it every day, and usually more than once a day! I use it to make my Smithy Fruit Smoothie each morning, Coconut Ice Cream, Soup, Salad Dressings, Condiments, Baby Food, Flour, Iced Coffee, you name it, I use my Vitamix!
The Vitamix is such a versatile machine, you can use it to chop, cream, blend, heat, grind, churn, crush ice and more. And a great feature of the Vitamix is the quick and easy self-cleaning with a drop of dish soap and warm water; just run on High for 30 seconds and voilà you are done!
Most people have heard of the Vitamix, but are afraid of the price tag (approx $600 CAD + tax). I was lucky enough to have received it as a wedding present, but would buy it myself in a heartbeat. I should also mention that because of the large investment your Vitamix comes with a great warranty (7 year full warranty) and exceptional customer service. The Vitamix sometimes goes on sale on the Shopping Channel and Costco, so keep you’re eyes peeled.
I highly recommend buying a Vitamix. You will not regret it. It may just become your new BFF!
The 2nd is my Breville Juice Fountain Multi-Speed (BJF)
This is a MUST have product if you suffer from an Auto Immune (AI) Disease. I use my BJF every day to make my Super Alkalizer Juice. By juicing with alkaline veggies and low sugar fruit, you can help lower your body’s acidity and thus reduce the inflammation in your body.
The BJF is a powerful and durable juicer that should fit most juicer’s needs. The juicer has adjustable speeds to maximize juice and minimize waste (5 speeds from 6500 to 12500 RPM for efficient juice output). All parts are top rack dishwasher safe except the food pusher, but I find that to get all of the pieces really clean I do a pre-wash by hand, especially the mesh filter basket.
From start to finish takes about 10-15 minutes to juice and clean, but I do pre-wash all of my veggies and fruit ahead of time, so that the only thing I need to do is core and trim when I juice.
